Overview
BCL
Technologies is working on a project with CECOM, US Army,
on a project titled BCL Knowledge Management Center.
Principal aims of this system will be to allow an "agile
commander" on the move to have total control over
the command structure, to allow individual army personnel
to have access to critical and time-sensitive information
and data, and to allow battle planners to analyze and
direct battles using the knowledge base. KMC will employ
an XML Data Stream Controller employing XSLT based routing
to automatically push different types and quantities
of content to different types of devices over different
types of connections. The web portal will act as pull
and push center. It will pull characteristics of the
connected devices in order to determine the correct amount
of data to be negotiated.
BCL
has considerable experience in conducting government-sponsored
research and has been active in various research programs
since early '90s. BCL Technologies is partially sponsored
by federal research contracts under the Small Business
Innovation Research Program (SBIR) and the Advanced Technology
Program (ATP). BCL Technologies has received 10 SBIR
contracts (Phase I and II) in the area of document management
and natural language communication from DARPA, Army and
the US Air Force and 1 ATP contract in spoken natural
language systems. BCL has a number of patents issued
or pending. Its proprietary document management technology
now assists in commercializing digital library information
for NASA, NSF and DARPA.
